More Readings Coming Up

First off, there's a bit more on that meteor strike here.

Next, I'm going to be doing another round of readings in Manhattan over the next couple of weeks.

First, on Thursday, September 27th at 7pm, I'll return to KGB Bar (85 E. 4th St.). Reading with me will be Chandra Prasad, Sebastian Matthews, and Red Hen publisher Kate Gale. Should be a great time.

Then, on Wednesday, October 3 at 7pm, I'll be at the beautiful bookstore McNally Robinson (52 Prince St.) with Kurt Brown, Doug Van Gundy (you bringing the fiddle, Doug?) and Jeffrey Harrison. I'll be the moderator that night.

Peruvians Sickened by Meteor Strike

Lazy blogger, I am.

Anyway, a friend sent me this story about a meteor strike in Peru because it reminded her of my book:
Villagers in southern Peru were struck by a mysterious illness after a meteorite made a fiery crash to Earth in their area, regional authorities said Monday.

Around midday Saturday, villagers were startled by an explosion and a fireball that many were convinced was an airplane crashing near their remote village, located in the high Andes department of Puno in the Desaguadero region, near the border with Bolivia.

Residents complained of headaches and vomiting brought on by a "strange odor," local health department official Jorge Lopez told Peruvian radio RPP.

Strange stuff.
