This is a picture Nathaniel took of me on the stoop a few weeks ago. It's my favorite photo that anyone has taken of me in a long time.

The whole issue of author photos is very fraught. I had Jessica Brown take some of me yesterday, and I think I'm OK with them. It just seems weird that I need pictures to promote the book, but I suppose it shouldn't. After all, I like to look at pictures of writers on books. Pore over them as if there were some clues to be gleaned.
